Eija's Garden
Eija's Garden
Experience and sensory garden
Eija's Garden is an experience and sensory garden and garden shop open to the public in Ahvenkoski, Loviisa
In spring 2008, I started to set up a garden open to the public, and in the process I realised my professional dream. This English-style experiential garden and garden centre was born out of a love of gardening that respects nature. It combines tightly constructed, disciplined sections, natural areas and smaller themed gardens that offer adults and children alike something new to explore. The most spectacular feature of the gardens is the impressive colonial boulders left by the Ice Age. An idyllic feature of part of the garden is the log cabin farmhouse, built in 1880, which was extended to create an adventure garden. It was built by Strömfors Ironworks as a rental house for its workers.
In the garden you can observe the koi carp in the carp pond, the resident chickens in the Cottage Garden and, due to the diversity of the garden, a wide variety of insects and birds.
An experiential group trip to Eija's Garden
The garden is an ideal day trip destination for groups, offering relaxation and moments of togetherness in a beautiful setting. Guided walking tours will give you an insight into the secrets and history of the garden, while a garden therapy lecture will give you a deeper insight into being in an organic garden as part of your wellbeing work. Whether it's a work group, a group of friends, an association or any other community, Eija's Garden offers a chance to rejuvenate, giving space for new insights in the midst of nature and gardens.
The common history of our farm and Strömfors ruins is interesting and the distance between them is less than three kilometres, so it's a good idea for the tour operator to include both sites in the itinerary.
A warm welcome to your visit!
Come with a friend for a guided sensory walk, a picnic, or a coffee in our café. You are warmly invited to explore our unique garden.
