Building history walk
What is Strömfors' silent link to Fagervik? What are the 19th century test houses in the pottery? And what was the original colour of the hose house? Join us to hear the stories of the potter's houses.
Join us to hear the stories of the houses of the Ironworks. During the walk, you will learn about the story of Strömfors Ironworks through its history and architecture. We will focus on the colourful history of the ruin through physical and visual changes. We will reflect on the fates and meanings of buildings that have disappeared from the landscape. We will discuss the material periods and stylistic changes of the pottery and learn about the history of traditional ironworking. Guided tours will be given by local architect and architectural historian Astria Excell.
During the summer season, building history tours are open and available on request. Open tours are held in Finnish.
