Children's Traffic Park in Ruotsinpyhtää
The Ruukki Traffic Park offers children a fun and safe place to practice traffic rules, driving skills, and being mindful of other road users. The Traffic Park is located in Ruotsinpyhtää, right next to the historic Strömfors Ironworks.
The paved traffic area features clearly marked lanes, road markings, and a roundabout. In the park, children can ride their own bicycles, balance bikes, or scooters, for example, while learning the basic rules of the road through play.
The Ruukki Traffic Park is especially well-suited for families with children; at the park, children can practice, among other things:
- traveling on the roadway
- recognition of road markings
- driving in a roundabout
- giving way and being considerate of others
- control of one's own vehicle
Fun activities for the whole family
The Traffic Park lets children take an active part in their day trip to the Strömfors Ironworks. Once the children have practiced driving and learned the traffic rules, the trip can continue with a visit to the historic ironworks setting, nature trails, or the area’s amenities.
The Traffic Park offerspedal cars and tractorsfor younger children, as well astwo scootersfor older riders. Helmets can be borrowed from the park if you didn’t bring your own. The park also has tables and benches for picnicking.

Location and Hours of Operation of the Traffic Park
The Traffic Park is maintained by the Strömfors Village Association. The park is located near the Strömfors ironworks area, next to the Koulutie playground. You can drive on the track either in your own vehicle or, during opening hours, in a vehicle provided by Strömfors Garage. It’s also easy to combine a visit here with the ironworks’ shops, restaurants, cafes, museums, exhibitions, and other attractions.

Playground next to the traffic park
Next to the Strömfors Ironworks Traffic Park is a playground where children can continue playing after their driving practice. Together, the Traffic Park and the playground make for a pleasant outdoor destination for families with children right next to the Strömfors Ironworks.
The playground is also well-suited for younger children who are not yet participating in the driving practice sessions at the traffic park. You can spend time in the area at your own pace and combine your visit with a snack break and an exploration of the other services and attractions at the Strömfors Ironworks.
