Strömfors Ironworks Workshop Museum

For a century, the historic Strömfors manufactory produced countless masterpieces of blacksmithing, from axes to door hinges and even carriages for transporting the wounded.

A visit to the Paja Museum is like a journey into the past. The museum exhibition in the upper forge was built in the 1990s and is divided into a section that has been frozen in time and a reconstructed forge. The authentic environment and informative exhibitions create a comprehensive experience that deepens your understanding of Finland's industrial history. How is iron ore turned into nails? The Blacksmith Museum is a must-see destination, especially for those interested in handicrafts, industrial history, and traditional blacksmithing. Admission to the museum is free.

Don't miss the blacksmith's demonstration at Yläpaja

While visiting the Blacksmith Museum, be sure to check out the summer blacksmithing demonstrations at the Strömfors Ironworks. In the historic Upper Forge, you can watch as the iron is heated in the furnace and shaped using traditional methods with the blows of a hammer.

The blacksmithing demonstration perfectly complements the story of the Blacksmith Museum and brings the ironworks’ craft traditions to life for visitors of all ages.
