Rainy day pottery
Grey clouds hang in the sky and the water in the dam of the pond shimmers with droplets. What to do in Strömfors on a rainy day? For the water-lover, the nature services and rustic setting make for a great experience on a rainy day, but can you spend the day dry?
Five tips for a rainy day
1. Enjoy cafés and restaurants.
A rainy day is a chance to curl up by yourself or spend some much-needed time with a friend over a warm cup of coffee. In Ruukki, you'll find a number of cafés and restaurants nestled in historic buildings, where you can stay and reminisce about the history of the buildings or even continue your knitting. Discover the cafés and restaurants here!
2. Go wild in the escape room or in karting!
If you're a little tempted by the menorah, but don't like the outdoors in the rain, you can find both the pond and the karting track for car chasers and escape room for a little team adventure. You can book both the karting track and the escape room online before your visit! If you're looking for even more speed - check out our neighbouring Aeronautica Arena and visit the pits after your visit to fly in the wind tunnel!
3. Immerse yourself in culture and history in museums and galleries.
In Ruukki you will find two barn museums: the Upper Barn and the Lower Barn, where you can listen to the sound of the rain and immerse yourself in the village's iron history. On Saturdays in July, the Upper Pajama also hosts a forging show, regardless of the weather, from 12-14!
Strömfors will also be exhibiting domestic art for a long summer! In the atmospheric Tallin Vint, the soothing drumming of the rain adds its own extra spice to the art experience! Read more about museums and galleries here!
4. Design and craft in the boutiques, whatever the weather!
In Strömfors you will find more than ten unique boutiques, with a selection of finds from the world of fashion, design, interior design and accessories. The pottery also has its own traditional builders' hardware store, where you can find inspiration for your next renovation project! The workshops are open in summer, whatever the weather - on rainy days you can explore the selection in a more relaxed atmosphere! Check out the boutiques here!
5. Treat yourself to a massage or work out at the gym
Did you know that there is also a gym at the pottery? At Wellbeing Werstaa you'll find a quiet gym with personal trainer services available. Book your own time for the gym From the Wellsters website!
At the former Plastic Factory you will also find trained masseuse Satu Hill, in whose skilled hands even the worst jams can be unlocked. Book an appointment with Satu before the pot day!
